Faith, Hope & Love

This series evolved from my work at St
Peter Claver. I am their art, computer,
sometimes gym teacher and after school
program facilitator. This is where I am 9
hours a day, learning and watching the kids
figure out life. I have been fascinated by the
children's response to Catholicism. Many of
the children are from different faiths and
they have different responses to the
school's faith. They are curious, mystified,
some dumb struck, but all are eager to
participate. They ask a lot of questions and
supply a lot of their own answers They are
a lot like me - not sure about a lot of the
symbols and rituals, but question
everything and love the weird mystery of
the whole religion. I like to record their
responses to the complex, sometimes
foreign world of Catholicism.
The series is fifteen paintings. They are all
acrylic and range in price and size.
